SECOND COLLECTION
A Second Collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend, 11th/12th March. This collection is to support the Irish Bishops’ Commissions. The money raised helps fund the work of the Irish Bishops’ Conference & it’s Agencies & Commissions, for example: Cura, Accord, Family & Marriage, Emigrants etc.

GARMENT OF SUFFERING, HOPE & THANKSGIVING
As in previous years, from this weekend a basket will be place in front of the altar in both churches where you may put your piece of cloth, as you pray for your own pain or suffering or that of someone close to you. The prayer may also be one of Hope or Thanksgiving for favours received.
If you are bringing your own piece of cloth, please make it about 6 inches square, as it makes the sewing together of the pieces of cloth much easier. Spare pieces of cloth will be available in baskets in the main porches of our Churches.
The Garment will be placed on the cross on Good Friday

There will be a procession before the Ovens Vigil Mass & before the Feast Day Masses in both Churches, when bowls of shamrock & a picture of St. Patrick will be brought to the altar while the Entrance Hymn is being sung.
The Bread and Wine will be brought up at the Offertory of the Mass.

SECOND COLLECTION
A special collection will be taken up at all Masses next weekend, 18th/19th March to support the people affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey & Syria.
All funds raised will be channelled through Trócaire who are working with the Caritas Internationalis Network in the affected areas.
Trócaire ensures that all funds raised in Ireland will be managed appropriately to meet the needs of those most badly affected.

CIORCAL CAINTE
The monthly meeting of the Ciorcal Cainte will be held on this Monday, 13th March at 8pm in the Éire Óg Pavilion.

EAST CORK CHORAL SOCIETY
The East Cork Choral Society under the baton of Colin Nicholls will perform “Elijah” by Mendelssohn in the City Hall, on the 25th March at 8pm.
In Aid of Marymount Hospice.

They will be joined by the Seafield Singers from Dublin & the East Cork Orchestra, led by Eithne Willis.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION, SCOIL NA HUAMHANNA OVENS
There will be a short preparation meeting for parents with the Parish Catechists on this Wednesday, 15th March in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm.
It will be for just one hour.
