MISSION SUNDAY 2024
This Sunday, Mission Sunday, we remember Missionaries around the world, especially where Irish Missionaries work.
SECOND COLLECTION
This weekend, 19th/20th October a second collection will be taken up at all Masses in both Churches.
This is the Annual Collection for the Propagation of the Faith.
ST BERNADETTES RELICS PILGRIMAGE TO CORK AND ROSS
For the first time the relics of St Bernadette are visiting Ireland, and we will have the privilege of welcoming them to the Diocese of Cork and Ross at the end of this month. The Diocese have put a full programme together to try and recreate something of the experience that Lourdes offers here at home.
The Relics will be displayed in the Cathedral of St Mary and St. Anne (North Cathedral) on Wednesday October 30th from 4pm, and then on the following day, Thursday October 31st, they will travel to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Clonakilty for veneration starting at 2pm.

IN NOVEMBER, WE REMEMBER
During the month of November we remember, in a special way, those who have died and we pray for them.
REMEMBRANCE MASS
On Friday, 8th November at 7pm we have our Remembrance Mass for those who died during the past year. Their names will be called out and a family member will be invited to place alight on the altar and their name on the Tree of Remembrance.
We remember also family members who died during the year outside of the Parish.
If you would like to have your loved one prayed for at the Remembrance Mass on 8th November, please hand in their name, address and date of
death, to either Ovens or Farran Church or to the Parish Office, no later than Tuesday, 5th November. The lights and labels for the Tree of Remembrance have to be prepared beforehand.
Any family who had a bereavement in the Parish need not make contact with the Church.
PARISH ASSEMBLY
The October meeting of the Ovens/Farran Parish Assembly will take place on this Monday the 21st of October at 8pm, in the Parish Centre
OVENS/FARRAN ACTIVE CIRCLE
We meet on this Monday, 21st October at 2.30pm sharp.
We hope to see as many members as possible present and new members are always welcome.

Monday 4th November – Thursday 7th November: 9am-9.20am
Monday 4th November – Wednesday 6th November 2pm-3pm
Accepted: all types of good condition clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts, jewellery.
Not accepted: bad condition clothes, single shoes.
Prayer Ministry training for Alpha Teams: The office for Mission and Ministry are running Prayer Ministry Workshops for new and existing Alpha Teams (7pm-9pm) In the Visitors Centre of The Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne, Cork and on Thursday, October 24th (7pm to 9pm) in the Parish Centre, Clonakilty.
