SECOND COLLECTION
Special Quarterly Collection for Diocesan Needs will be taken up at all Masses this weekend, 22nd/23rd April.
This quarterly collection allows the Diocese to provide ongoing supports to parishes in many areas. It contributes to the day to day running cost of the Diocese including the cost of personnel, utilities, such as light, heat, maintenance, insurance etc. Also professional fees, safeguarding, data protection & mission & ministry.

The January Quarterly Collection amounted to €44,292, which is much appreciated.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION FOR THE WEEK
Be An Encourager
We all need encouragement and the beautiful thing about encouraging is that anybody can do it.
For Further Reflection:
1 Thessalonians 5:11

THE EASTER SEASON
The invitation of Easter is to remember that Jesus is Risen in all of our experiences.
In birth and in new life, Jesus is Risen.
When the night is dark, we know the dawn will bring the morning, Jesus is Risen.
In our world so full of suffering, the people of hope, who reach out and give time and energy to ease the pain they see, Jesus is Risen.
In a time of grief when a wave of loss surrounds us and then there comes a moment of peace, Jesus is Risen.
When there is forgiveness in the face of hurt and disappointment, Jesus is Risen.
These Easter days are a time to remember all that “he has told us” in our own life stories.

CONFIRMATION IN OUR PARISH
This week and next week Bishop Fintan Gavin will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to the young people in our Parish.
This Week, on Tuesday 25th April for Scoil Mhuire Farran in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 10.30am.
This will be Bishop Fintan’s First Official visit to our Parish. We welcome him.
Next Week, on Thursday 4th May for Scoil na hUamhanna, Ovens in two ceremonies, 10am & 1pm.
Thanks to their dedicated teachers for their preparation of the young people and to their parents for their support of them in that preparation.
Through Confirmation the young people receive the Holy Spirit to guide them through life.
We commend them to the Holy Spirit through the following Holy Spirit Prayer on Confirmation Day.

BLESS US ALONG THE PATH OF LIFE
We open our hearts to the Spirit of the Lord: may the Spirit bless each of us with openness and wisdom.

Lord, fill our minds and hearts with your Spirit.
May we be open to whatever your Spirit is saying to us.
May we be open to your Spirit speaking to us through the words and wisdom of one another.
Heal us from our presumptions and blind spots lest we be hindered from hearing your word.
Bless us along the path of life.
