CROSS OF HOPE FOR LENT
The wooden cross is now in place in the sanctuary of our Churches.
During the Season of Lent Parishioners are invited to come quietly & in their own time to place their message of hope for Lent in the box, which is placed near the cross. There is also a basket with spare paper and pens on which you may write your message.
Your hope for this Lent may be for yourself, a family member, a friend or neighbour, the Church or the world.
At the weekday & weekend Masses during Lent all the messages of hope will be prayed for in the Prayers of the Faithful.
All family life is a shepherding in mercy. Each of us by our love & care, leaves a mark on the life of others.

Confirmation Preparation, Fruits of the Holy Spirit
“Goodness”

As we invite the Holy Spirit to abide with us & bear fruit in us, the Spirit helps us to see more of God, including the goodness of His creation. God’s goodness is the very essence of God’s nature.
Jesus “went about doing good”. We should too! We are being “created in Christ Jesus for good works”. Christ said to do good to everyone, even our enemies!
Doing good to someone who does good to you, Jesus points out, is not pure goodness. It is rather two people exchanging favours, which can be at least partly selfish. God’s standard is the very highest!
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all.
But living a life close to God with all the great benefits He offers is the “truly good life”. Allow God to cultivate in you the good fruit of goodness. And that will lead to the gift of eternal life!
That’s as good as it gets!.
