EASTER CELEBRATIONS
Remember, the heart of Easter is the Resurrection of Jesus.
Make sure that the most profound event in Christian history, the axis upon which all history turns, is not relegated to a backseat, behind chocolate bunnies, decorated baskets and egg hunts. Put your focus on the real meaning of Easter.
A Happy, Holy & Peaceful Easter to all Parishioners.
Fr. Liam, Monsignor Kevin & the Parish Assembly.

WE ARE ONE WITH THE RISEN CHRIST
Lord, we lift our hearts to you. As the dawn breaks, may we carry the unity we share into every moment knowing that we are one with the Risen Christ.
Lord, we lift our eyes to you. As the sun rises, may this moment stay with us, reminding us to look for the beautiful colours of promise in your word.
Lord, we lift our prayers to you. As the dew falls, may we breathe this morning in & know that like the earth you sustain us, keep us & work within us always.
Amen

THE PASCHAL CANDLE
At Easter we light the Paschal Candle. It is a sign of life. We light it to show that Jesus is risen from the dead.
1. The flame on the Paschal Candle reminds us that Jesus, our friend, is alive and that His kindness & love have no end.
2. The cross on the Paschal Candle reminds us that Jesus died for us.
3. You will also see this big candle lighting at Masses during Easter.
4. Throughout the year, it is used when we celebrate the Sacraments e.g. Baptism.

The Paschal Candle is prepared & blessed during the Easter Vigil ceremony, on Holy Saturday night. While the Priest traces these letters and the numbers of the present year on the cross, he says the following prayer:
Christ yesterday and today, the beginning and the end. Alpha & Omega.
All time belongs to Him. And all the ages to Him be glory and power.
Through every age forever.
Amen
