RECOMMISSIONING OF THE MINISTERS OF THE WORD
All Ministers of the Word, Farran & Ovens, are invited to the Recommissioning Ceremony during Mass on this Sunday, the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time & Sunday of the Word of God.
9.30am in Farran & 11.30am in Ovens.
At the beginning of Mass we will have the Enthronement Ceremony of the Bible, when it will be carried in procession to a specially prepared place in the sanctuary and will remain open during Mass.
The Priest will then say the Enthronement Prayer.
ALPHA TRAINING DAYS
The Office for Mission & Ministry are hosting 2 Alpha Training days 27th January & 3rd February for those interested in running Alpha in their Parish/Family of Parishes:
- Cork City (Blackrock Parish Centre) on Sat. 27th January.
- West Cork (Clonakilty Parish Centre) on Sat. 3rd February.

PARISH ASSEMBLY MEETING
Ovens/Farran Parish Assembly will meet in the Parish Centre on this Monday, 22nd January at 8pm.

This year, the local branch of St. Vincent de Paul again received the very generous proceeds of the Éire Óg Tony Dineen Puc Fáda Competition which amounted to €2,175.
We are extremely grateful for this donation. Along with our usual work, donations like this put us in a much better position to meet requests from local families whose children got their grants & state supports for college but are unable to meet the hidden day to day expenses. Without support, these children could miss out.

SCOIL MHUIRE, BALLINCOLLIG
The Board of Management invites applications for a School Bus Escort post in Scoil Mhuire, Ballincollig.
Candidates should have experience in working with children, have an understanding of special needs & be able to deal with parents & school staff in a professional way. School Bus Escorts will be expected to travel to and from an agreed pick-up and drop-off point to meet the bus.
Applicants must supply suitable character references & Garda vetting is mandatory.
Hourly rate of pay is €13.40. The work will consist of approx. 3hrs per day.
7.30am to 9am & 2.45pm to 4.15pm.
Bus Escorts will not be paid during school holidays.

Preparation for Marriage Courses 2024
Grásta Preparation for marriage Courses consist of a residential weekend course, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, for couples to focus on their relationship and what is important for them as a couple planning their married life together.
The courses are run with the approval of the diocese of Ossory and Bishop Niall Coll.

BAPTISM PREPARATION MEETING
The Baptism Preparation Meeting for the children being Baptised in February is on Saturday, next, 27th February.
The meetings are held once a month at 11am in the Parish Centre. The Baptism Preparation Team members are in attendance. Registration forms are filled out, the scripture readings for the Baptism ceremony given to the families and other practical details discussed.
Following the meeting the families are invited to stay for light refreshments, if they wish to do so.
