FEAST DAY OF THE SACRED HEART
Friday last, 7th June, was the Feast of the Sacred Heart. It is the day on which we honour the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The first liturgical Feast of the Sacred Heart was celebrated, with the approval of the Bishops, in 1670. The Feast is celebrated on the Friday within the Octave of Corpus Christi.
Since 2002, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is also a special day of prayer for Priests. The Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary immediately follows on Saturday.
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place all our trust in You. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we implore that we may love thee daily more & more”.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION FOR THE WEEK
Just for Today

This day will only come once. Challenge yourself by saying, “Just for today I will enjoy each moment to the fullest & try not to tackle all life’s problems at once. Just for today I will try to enjoy every one of God’s blessings”.

For Further Reflection:
Psalm 118:24.

ON WAKING
I give thanks for arriving safely in a new dawn,
For the gift of eyes to see the world,
The gift of mind to feel at home in my life.
The waves of possibility breaking on the shore of dawn, the harvest of the past that awaits my hunger, and all the furtherings this new day will bring.
John O’Donoghue.

Fame without friendship is a cold place. We have read the novel or seen the movie about the person who “has it all” but at heart is lonely and isolated and yearns for a friend.

AN EXAM PRAYER
We continue to pray for those doing exams.
God stay close to me today, guide my study & light my way.
Ease my nerves & comfort me with peace & love so tenderly.
May I remember the things I need & understand all I study & read.
May I strive to give my best & do myself justice in each test.
May the topics I know & like appear on the exam paper.
And during the moments I may feel stressed I’ll try to remember the ways I’m blessed.
And if there are times that I feel at sea, help me to trust that you’re here with me. Amen.
