A PRESENT DAY PRAYER OF HOPE
Lord, be with us on our journey through life, especially today and tomorrow.
Remove any spirit of heaviness from our homes and refresh us with a spirit of hope.
Give us joy, peace and energy.
Renew our strength.
Protect our community, homes, parish and world from trouble and sickness.
God of life, let your unfailing love support us because our hope is in You.
Give us a new song of praise for You.
Amen

Second Collection
There will be a second collection in both Churches next weekend, 26th/27th September for the education of students to the Priesthood. Baskets will be placed at the entrance and exit doors of the Churches and in the parish centre.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020
Scoil na nUamhanna Ovens:
Saturday 26th September at 10am & 12noon.
Saturday 3rd October at 10am & 12noon.

There is also a three part series on the Diocesan Website on “Preparing for First Confession & First Holy Communion”. This is produced by I Catholic. It is beautifully done and is very helpful for parents preparing with their children. It may also be accessed through the Parish Website: ovensparish.com “Preparing for First Confession & First Holy Communion”.

Please remember the children in your prayers and also their teachers and families and parish, that they may prepare safely together.

Weekday Masses
It is good to see the numbers present, either in our Churches, taking part through the outside speakers, or via Webcam. Sincere thanks to all and to those who make this possible.
It would seem that the Government and HSE restrictions in place due to Covid-19 will continue for some time. To assist people in attending weekly Mass it is important to state again that one may make any weekday Mass ones “Sunday Mass”. The Monday Mass in Ovens is at 7.30pm in the evening. This is to facilitate those who may have work duties during the day. It may also assist families.
Thanks also to those who contribute through the Offertory Collection boxes at each door, especially in these difficult financial times for many.

ROTA FOR STEWARDS
Copies of the rota for those stewarding at the weekend Masses in Ovens Church are still available.
Any steward who didn’t get a rota may collect one after Mass.

ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
For those who are unable to attend Mass at the moment & receive Holy Communion.
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things and I desire to receive You into my Soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You Sacramentally, come at least Spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
(pause for silent prayer).
O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all Thanksgiving be every moment thine.
Amen.
