EASTER SUNDAY
Easter, also called Resurrection Sunday is a Christian Festival & holiday, commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. It is described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day after His burial, having been crucified by the Romans at Calvary.
Early on Sunday morning, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb and found the stone rolled back. She was amazed & ran to tell Peter & the other Disciples.
THE RISEN LORD OF EASTER DAY
Where is the Lord?
Gone away? His work Finished?
He is with God.
He is raised to God, not just raised by God or in God, but brought on high to God.
He lives now in the place where He was before time began, with the Father.
He lives with God and He is found in His people, to be found among people is to be found with God.
Where do we find the One who is with God?
In Galilee, on the road to Emmaus, at the seaside. Among people.
Lord, help me to notice You, follow You, enjoy You, embrace You, in Your people.
Risen Lord, raise your people.
MAIDIN DOMHNACH CÁSCA
Easter Sunday Morning
Éirim suas le Dia, go néirí Dia Liom.
Lámh Dé ‘mo thimpeall ag stiuradh mo shaol.
A Dhia a chruthaigh an grian,
Tabhair dom radharc ort I soilseacht na ghlóire.
A Rí na gile ‘s na gréine,
Bí liom gach oíche is lá
Chríost Aisirithe.
I rise with God, may God rise with me.
God’s hand around me steering my life.
O God, who created the sun, may I see you in Your Risen Glory.
O bright King of the Sun, be with us night & day.
The Risen Christ.

EASTER OFFERTORY COLLECTION
The Easter Offertory Collection, which normally takes place during Mass when the Churches are open for Mass, is for the Priests of the Parish. Any parishioner not using the box of envelopes, may put their donation in an ordinary white envelope and hand it in to either the Church, Parochial house letterbox or put it in the letterbox in the parish centre.
Thanks to all parishioners for their continued support at this difficult time.
SPRING/EASTER DUES
The envelopes for the Spring/Easter Dues are now being distributed to the Station Areas.
Thanks to those who distribute them.
RECENT DEATH
Paul Murphy, Ballineadig
May he Rest in Peace.
We wish all Parishioners every blessing and grace and we pray that this Easter will renew our hearts and lives and hope. Please be mindful of all those in our community who are living alone and for whom this Easter will be a difficult and lonely time without the traditional visits of family and loved ones that we associate with the Easter holidays.
We remember in a special way those who were bereaved in the last year and who experienced “Covid Funerals”.
Fr. Liam, Monsignor Kevin and the Parish Assembly.
