TRINITY SUNDAY
Trinity Sunday is the first Sunday after Pentecost. On this Sunday we celebrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, the three Persons of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
During the Middle Ages, devotion to the Blessed Trinity was a highly important feature of private devotion and inspired several liturgical expressions. Sundays are traditionally dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
In the Catholic Church it is officially known as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. Prior to the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, it marked the end of a three week period when church weddings were forbidden. The period began on Rogation Sunday, the fifth Sunday after Easter.
This Sunday the Priest wears white vestments.
When we bless ourselves and recite the “Glory be to the Father” we honour the Most Holy Trinity.

EXAM PRAYER
Let us pray for those doing exams at present and in the coming weeks.
God stay close to me today, guide my study and light my way.
Ease my nerves and comfort me with peace and love so tenderly.
May I remember the things I need and understand all I study and read.
May I strive to give my best and do myself justice.
May the topics I know and like appear on the exam paper.
And during the moments I may feel stressed I’ll try to remember the ways I’m blessed.
And if there are times that I feel at sea, help me to trust that you’re here with me.
Amen

JUNE, THE MONTH OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
June is known as the month of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Feast is invariably in June, 19 days after Pentecost Sunday.
This year it is on Friday, 11th June.
The main reason for devotion to the Sacred heart of Jesus is the love of Jesus for His Father (God) and for each of us. It is also seen, of course, as a symbol of God’s love for us.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most well known Devotions. It was promoted especially by Sr. Margaret Mary Alacoque. She was a French Sister of the Visitation Order and was declared a Saint in 1864,
One may make a Novena to the Sacred Heart at any time, but especially beginning nine days before the Feast Day, that is from Wednesday 2nd June to Friday 11th June this year.
The following prayer may be part of it. (To find out more about the Novena, please “Google” Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus).
NOVENA PRAYER
Lord Jesus, your Sacred Heart is always open in love to each of us and especially when we are suffering. To all who come to you seeking your help, you show your compassion and healing power. You care for us when we are lost, sympathise with us in loneliness and comfort us in mourning; you are closest to us when we are weakest. You reach out your hand to us when we stumble and have most need of your help. I ask you to listen to my prayer during this Novena and grant what I ask. (Make your petition now). But if what I ask is not for my own good or that of others, grant me always what is best, that I may build up your kingdom of love in our world.
Amen.
