RETURNING TO MASS WITH A CONGREGATION
During the last few weeks it has been wonderful to experience the return to Mass with a congregation on both weekends and weekdays. Thanks to all who have made this possible and, please God, when restrictions can be lifted further more people and families will return to pray as a faith community.
We welcome too the sick and the housebound who join with us through the Webcam in both our Churches and also those from our parish and elsewhere living away from home or living abroad who also join with us in the Mass and prayer.
FATHER’S DAY
On this Sunday, 20th June we wish all Fathers a very happy Father’s Day.
Father’s Day is a holiday of honouring fatherhood & paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society.
Prayer for Fathers
God our Father,
We give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation.
May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
Amen.
THE ONE FAMILY PROJECT
On this World Refugee Day, The One Family Project would like to thank everyone in the Ovens/Farran Parish for the wonderful support of our recent Road from Damascus fundraiser and of this initiative which hopes to settle one Syrian refugee family in the Ovens/Farran area. Not only has our fundraising target been well surpassed but the enthusiasm and positivity around the project has been hugely heartwarming. The project team is working hard now to fulfil all the planning requirements set down by the Department of Justice before a family can be settled here. Ten years of conflict in Syria have left 13 million people homeless, half of that number in refugee camps in the Middle East. Our intervention is a small step in the overall recovery of the Syrian people but hopefully a big step forward in the lives of one family.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
PARISH CONTRIBUTIONS
Thanks to all who contribute to the support of our Parish and especially through this time of the Covid 19 Pandemic. Thanks to those who contribute each weekend through the envelope system or the contribution boxes. As baskets may not now be passed around these boxes are at each church door and are easily accessible to those who attend Mass outside or in the parish centre.
Our thanks also to those who use the online and direct debit system, the shrines and the envelope Tax Back System, which is still open to new members.
Again thanks to all who contribute in whatever way you do.
SPRING/EASTER DUES
Monsignor Kevin & Fr. Liam would like to thank sincerely all who have returned the Spring/Easter Dues envelopes & also, of course, for your generosity & support in that and in so many ways.
OVENS (ÉIRE ÓG) ON LINE BINGO
