WEEKDAY MASSES
The Retreat for the Priests of the Diocese of Cork and Ross takes place from this Sunday 10th October to Thursday 14th October.
From Monday 11th to Thursday 14th
No Masses, other than Funeral Masses, will be celebrated in the Diocese.
Should a funeral occur in our parish it will be covered by a Priest from the Sacred Heart Order, Western Road.
Morning Mass as usual on Friday, 15th October at 9.30am in Ovens Church, with Rosary at 9.10am before the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration for one hour, 10am to 11am, after Mass.

SECOND COLLECTION
Special Quarterly Collection for the support of the Diocese, will be taken up at all Masses this weekend.
Baskets for this collection have been placed near the Offertory Collection boxes.

MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST (OVENS)
The new Rota for the Ministers of the Eucharist may be collected in the sacristy after Mass.

OCTOBER, MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary & on this Sunday, 10th October at 2.30pm in Ovens Church, we will join with people from around Ireland to pray the Rosary for Life and Faith. All welcome.

An elderly lady living alone needs a little help.
No housework involved, just companionship for a few hours each day, at a time suitable to the minder. Car driver essential.

SAFEGUARDING
With the good news that our churches are open, safeguarding checks continue to take place to ensure and maintain safe environment, as well as the yearly Parish Safeguarding Audits which are being sent out to the Parish Priest and Parish Safeguarding reps in the next few weeks.
As we welcome people back, we offer our continued reassurance of our commitment to safeguarding in the Parish and in the Diocese.

OVENS COMMUNITY ALERT GROUP
TEXT ALERT SCHEME

The Group is now taking names and telephone numbers of those that wish to be enrolled for the above. The fee is a subscription of €10, which will generally last one year approx., but is dependent on the number of alerts issued.
If interested please drop €10 to the Parish Centre on October 21st at 8pm or it may be given to Anthony McCarthy, Kathleen Daly or Denis Murphy.
