WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, 24TH OCTOBER
What is World Mission Sunday?
World Mission Sunday is the Holy Father’s Annual Appeal to support overseas mission and missionaries. It takes place in every single parish worldwide where the Church is present. All offerings made on behalf of World Mission Sunday become part of the Holy Father’s Universal Solidarity Fund. This fund supports missionary activities in over 1,100 young dioceses, mostly in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
SECOND COLLECTION
A Second Collection will be taken up in both Churches this weekend to support this annual appeal.(Propagation of the Faith).
Baskets for this collection will be placed on the tables near the Offertory Collection boxes.
“GOD IS PRESENT EVERYWHERE”
God is present everywhere and in everything in the world of ours since the world’s foundation.
Every human being, every flower, fly, snail, sunbeam, shadow, cloud, wave, sea, sky, each is more than itself.
Each is itself a sacred and unique revelation of God.
Sister Stan.
STATEMENT FROM BISHOP FINTAN GAVIN
Following Tuesday’s government statement on Covid 19 public health measures, public worship can take place without capacity limits from 22nd October, but with all protective measures remaining in place.
These protective measures include:
1, Mask wearing.
- Good ventilation.
- Sanitisation on entry and departure.
- Social distancing insofar as possible.
November is always a special time in our Churches when people and families gather to remember loved ones who have died and greater numbers will gather for Remembrance Masses. In light of this we need to continue to be vigilant in relation to the above protective measures.
Thanks to stewards, those who sanitise & clean churches & church personnel so that we can gather safely & joyfully for public worship.
