ASCENSION SUNDAY
This Sunday, 29th May we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven in the presence of eleven of His Apostles. The Ascension took place 40 days after Easter. Up to some years ago the Ascension was celebrated on a Thursday and it was a Church Holiday.
In St. Luke’s Gospel 24-50: he tells us that Jesus led the eleven remaining disciples to Bethany, a village on the Mount of Olives and instructed them to remain in Jerusalem until the coming of the Holy Spirit: “and it came to pass, while He blessed them, He parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. And they worshipped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy”.

If You…………
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a Church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are luckier than 3 billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the world.
If you have money in the bank, in your purse & spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
