EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION
Last Sunday’s Eucharistic Procession for the Feast of Corpus Christi was a lovely occasion in our parish.
Thanks to all who took part, members of the Parish Assembly, some choir members, the First Holy Communion children and, of course, the congregation.
In Farran, the First Holy Communion children’s visit to the Grotto and their hymns after the 9.30am Mass was also very beautiful.

A Second Collection will be taken up at all Masses this Weekend in both Churches, The Peter’s Pence Collection.
The proceeds of this collection are sent to Rome. It is used by the Pope to support special charitable projects in developing countries as well as defraying expenses of the work of the Church.

SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK
Peace I leave with you:
My peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27
The Lord gives strength to His people.
The Lord blesses His people with peace.
Psalm 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
THE PRAYER OF ASKING
Often we feel that our efforts at prayer are more centred on asking than on thanking.
At such a time it is useful for us to read again the words of Jesus; “Ask and it will be given you, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be opened to you”.
When we take him at His word we earn a double reward. He answers in a way that is best for us.
We ask through faith. We seek through hope and we knock through charity.
Everyone who asks receives and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Lk 11:10)
Lord, with all my heart I ask your help.
