A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Be Honest
If you always tell the truth, you never have to worry about remembering what you said.
Nothing is more important than credibility.
Lose that and you lose everything.
For further reflection on the above, please read
St. Paul’s Letter to The Romans 12:17.
THE NATIVITY OF OUR LADY
On Thursday next, 8th September we celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.
In honour of the Feast Day there will be a Triduum of Rosaries in Ovens Church on Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th at 2.30pm.
All welcome.
FAMILIES OF PARISHES
Copies of Bishop Fintan’s Pastoral Letter “putting out into deep waters” (Luke 5:4) are available at each door of Ovens & Farran Churches. The theme of the Pastoral is “transforming parishes into Mission-central Faith Communities”.
These will be known as ”Families of Parishes”. Our parish will be in a Family of Parishes with Ballincollig and Ballinora.
Please do take home a copy of the pastoral, if you haven’t already done so. This is a summary and the full version is available on the Diocesan Website, corkandross.org.
JULY BAPTISMS

ALTAR SERVERS
For the last two and a half years we were unable to have Altar Servers in Ovens & Farran Churches.
We now invite the pupils of 3rd/4th & 5th Classes in both schools, who would like to become altar servers to collect a form from the sacristy, after Mass in both Churches or from the Parish Centre during office hours on Tuesday between 6.30pm & 7.30pm or on Thursday between 9.30am and 10.30am.
Training will be given at a date and time suitable to all.
