New Venture to Pray Together
On Thursday, 20th October at 7pm, we are planning to join together to pray the Mysteries of Light, with the aid of audio visual, music from our multi lingual communities, scripture and reflection.
Each Church Community is being invited to participate in the decades.
On this occasion it will be held in St. Mary & St. John’s Church on Station Road, but, our dream is that each church will host some creative prayer time during the year. All are welcome.

THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
The two flowers associated with the month of October are Cosmos and Marigolds.
Cosmos is a symbol of Order & Balance, Peace & Innocence.
Marigolds: The common name, Marigolds, is a shortening of “Mary’s Gold”. It is said to have been named for the Virgin Mary. The flower has been linked to Optimism & Prosperity, Cheer & Joy, Wealth & Success. In the garden marigolds attract butterflies & birds. They also provide colour throughout the growing season.

A Service of Remembrance will be held by Cork University Maternity Hospital on Friday next, 14th October at 7.30pm in the Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork.

OCTOBER SAFEGUARDING MONTH
The 2021 parish safeguarding audits showed that children’s ministry in parishes is slowly returning following the pandemic. We actively encourage children to be involved in the Church & we have developed procedures, policies and forms to assist parishes in this Ministry.
For further guidance with children’s ministry contact Cleo Yates, Director of Safeguarding, who will be more than happy to assist.
