Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farran.
150th Anniversary of Consecration.
This special occasion was beautifully celebrated with the 6pm. Mass on Saturday Nov. 20th 2010.
Bishop John Buckley was the chief concelebrant and Canon Dan Crowley, Rooves & P.P. St. Patrick’s Parish, gave the homily. The Church and grounds were splendidly prepared.
Much co-ordination took place beforehand and this was clearly evident. The Liturgy itself, with its music, hymns and prayer was just excellent, and the specially prepared Mass Booklet added to this. A History of the Church was also prepared, as was a beautiful memorial card.
Following the Mass, refreshments were served in the newly refurbished Farran Hall. Fittingly too on Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King, there was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 1.00 to 6.00pm, concluding with Benediction.
