The OVENS / FARRAN PARISH child protection policy was put in place in 2008. The policy can be viewed in the church notice board at each church. The names and details of the three lay representatives are also published on the notice board. Any of them can be contacted by any person who has a concern in regard to child protection.
DIOCESAN GUIDELINES
A booklet containing the guidelines for good practice by all who work with children and young people in Cork & Ross is also available in each Parish Church. A copy may be taken, or ordered from the parish representative.
National Board
In 2008 the NATIONAL BOARD FOR SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (NBSCCC) Published a standards and guidelines document to cover all aspects of Church activity. This document can be viewed at the Parish Centre, Ovens.
